[D] A standard beach house complex - with plenty of love put into it over the eight years it's been here. Right now, it had a lot of beach roses adorning the yard and the porch, and some warm lights that let visitors know they were always welcome - it was a popular vacation rental spot, after all... Brokuk and Chadrix had to earn some extra cash for their... excursions somehow, of course. Inside, there's a large, open living room and kitchen when one walked into the first story, with a suspicious rectangular rug in a random off-center area of the floor. There are various other things in the backyard of the beach house - a firepit, a grill, beach chairs, et cetera - allowing for the party to continue even after the sun sets, plenty of cute little lantern lights strung across poles, and even some beach roses and native flora that grew near the house.

Mol'Rihan, a place Elwyn had literally never been to before. Well, there were a lot of places Elwyn had never been to before in all fairness. But this one was exciting! Why? Because they got to be here now, this very instant, having just gotten off a shuttle! From the moment they arrived on the planet and blinking stepped into the sun, there was more to see than could ever be seen, and more to do than could ever be done. There was almost far too much to take in here, and more to find than could ever be found. But with the sun rolling high in the purple cloud-filled sky they began their (star) trek off towards the beach, pulling a small lavender coloured suitcase behind them. Wandering along on the first holiday they'd been on in literal years, the android soon came across the beach in question, revealing the beautiful purple water that they'd seen from the window of the shuttle. Wearing some convenient waterproof sandals, accompanied by a colourful pair of stripy shorts and a rainbow heart-covered crop top bra, Elwyn immediately beelined for the water to paddle. Looking left and right briefly as they stood in the warm water, they soon noticed what looked like the house they were supposed to be going to, and without hesitation they began wandering over towards it in the shallows with a happy grin on their face, making sure to keep their suitcase out of the water. It was water tight, but that wasn't the point, really. The closer to the house they got the more excited they got, and soon they were right on it and looking around for anyone to see if they were in the right place.

Chadrix was out on the patio, some chill music playing as he was grilling what seemed to be some burgers or some sort of patties and various vegetable and fruit skewers with various fruits & veggies from both Mol'Rihan and Earth. Oh, and some flavorings - particularly teriyaki and redspice were some of the flavors he was using in these various grilled recipes, he found that the teriyaki worked particularly well on tofu. There was typically the occasional person wandering about on the beach at this time, even close to their house, seeing as it was a public shoreline despite them technically owning the backyard - but when he caught eye of a person coming straight in the direction of their backyard, he squinted to see them better, wondering who it was. "Hey Bro, you think that's one of Allan's friends he was talking about?" he asked, it definitely didn't look like any of Allan's boyfriends, or Renakir, or anyone else they'd met - before he turned back to focus on his grilling. One thing was for sure about what he was cooking: it smelled gooood.

"Uhhh..." Brokuk, who was laying on a beach chair on the sand with his sunglasses on and nothing much else except his long black swim shorts, sat up just a little to look at whoever Chadrix was asking him about. "I dunno, man, looks like a human, I think, so definitely not the Ferengi, uhhhh... definitely doesn't look like Eshen," he squinted to try and get a better look at them, "definitely not Saren either, unless he got like, long blond hair all of a sudden.." he tried to rack his brain for all the other people Allan had mentioned to them. But to be fair, there were a lot of people their friend knew and had invited to this place.

"Just go ask Allan, Bro, no reason to hang around and play a guessing game, I'll stay here," he started flipping the patties. Up into the air, back down on the sizzling grill... he was rather talented about this, people often thought he was a professional chef before knowing he was just a Starfleet officer.

"Ughhh, okay, dude, I'll get up, mannnn, you gotta like, totally do this next time, though," the Reman got up with a groan and went up to Chadrix, looking up at him and then back to the grill, and then just decided he'd mess with him later and slid the patio door open to go back into the house and find wherever the fuck Allan was while he left Chadrix to talk to whoever this was, said Chadrix giving a small wave with one hand to the person as they walked closer.

Having pretty good hearing and all, Elwyn rather quickly began hearing the back and forth between the two people they'd spotted outside the house. Waving back as they were waved at, glancing over as one of them left, they spoke as they got a little nearer, offering a friendly smile as they did. "Hi! Sorry to bother you. Areeee either of you Brokuk or Chadrix?" They enquired cheerfully, clasping their hands behind their back as a thought popped into the back of their mind: Waterproof sandals is all well and good until you start walking through the sand again, because now your feet are coated in sand. Yay! "Diiiid I hear you say something about an Allan? I know an Allan! He invited me to a beach house on this beach. I'm Elwyn!"

Chadrix offered a friendly smile right back. After all, he had no worries for the rest of his days as far as he was concerned, and held quite a problem-free philosophy because of it - and it most certainly showed in the way he seemed so... chill. It was also the surfer dude energy, though. "Hey, dude! Yeah, I'm Chadrix, Brokuk just went inside," he gestured with his hand he'd waved with to the door, his other still flipping burgers and whatnot, "oh! Nice, dude, nice, yeah, he went in to go find that guy, crazy dude, but he's been coming here for years now, in more ways than one," he laughed, and then shook his head. "Totally cool to meet ya, Elwyn! He told us a good bit about ya, all good stuff!"

Brokuk | NPC BOT 11-Jul-24 02:22 AM
Not long after that, Brokuk came back out of the house, tossing his head back and rolling his eyes, although you couldn't see the eye roll behind his sunglasses - still, the Attitude was there in the body language. "Ugh, bro, Allan is like, taking his crazy sweet time in the bath, he said it's Elwyn and I was like dude, they're here like, now, and he was like 'oooh, I'll be out in a few minutes' and some dumb shit about his hair or something, I don't even-" he stopped talking when he saw that Elwyn was Right There, and smiled and waved. "Oh! Uh, hey Elwyn, sorry about that, dude, we ah - promise we are like, totally chill."

Chad rolled his eyes at that, which Was visible. "Don't worry about this doofus over here, he gets like, a little... passionate, sometimes," he laughed, sliding some of the patties off the grill and onto a plate. "I can't remember, he said you were... mm, Operations? Security? I know it's not engineering, but another yellow one, because he totally mentioned the duckling thing..."

Lt. JG. Elwyn Preston | SEC BOT 11-Jul-24 03:32 AM
'He's been coming here for years now in more ways than one'? How could you be... OH. Giggling at the friendly surfer dude's joke, Elwyn was relieved to hear that everything that had been said about them was good stuff. They wouldn't know where there'd be any bad stuff, but it was still reassuring nonetheless! "It's nice to meet you, too!" They responded cheerfully, only to look over as Brokuk returned, watching him as he went on about Allan and baths and hair. "Hair is important!" The android responded with a giggle. Despite their hair never getting greasy it certainly needed washing from time to time. Seemingly entirely unphased by the so called doofus, Elwyn nodded in response to the comment about being another yellow one. "Security, yep! I'm a Health and Safety Inspector and honorary duckling! Quack!" They replied with a happy little grin, letting out a quack that they simply couldn't hold back. They liked being a duckling. Despite appearing entirely Human, plenty of their subtle seams were well on show with their outfit of choice. In fact, almost all of them were. "I'm so excited to be here!"
Avatar
Brokuk | NPC BOT 12-Jul-24 01:16 AM
"Like I would know," Brokuk said in response to hair being important. Most Remans were bald, so... he really didn't have any experience with that. "I guess his is all soft and whatever, but I guessss so is-" he reached up to ruffle Chadrix's hair.

Chadrix almost immediately swatted Brokuk's hand away. Not that his wig wasn't secure, but sometimes Brokuk tried his damndest to rip it off anyways. "Oooh, Health and Safety Inspector, that's totally rad," he said, plating the other foods off the grill - the various skewers full of fruit and tofu and other stuff and oh, some grilled plantains for their mutual friend doing his hair or whatever.

"It's up to code, Bro." Chadrix stated it quite simply as he looked down at the smaller man. He did all the paperwork, after all. "Quack?" He did not sound natural at all saying it. Probably because they did not have ducks. "Really glad you're excited to be here, though, Allan's totally excited about it too, he's always like, sooo hyped to see his friends here," he couldn't ever recall a time where Allan wasn't, really.

Watching the interaction between the two, Elwyn kept a happy little smile on her face as she listened. Tilting her head slightly like a puppy at the mention of things maybe or maybe not being up to code, she couldn't help but ponder that thought for a moment before shrugging it off. She was on holiday, she didn't need to worry about that sort of thing! Giggling a little at the attempted quack, they nodded as Chadrix said he was glad they were excited to be here. "Mol'Rihan is so pretty! Purple water?! Yes please! Oh, speaking of, I might need to rinse my feet off before going inside. They're a bit sandy."

Brokuk had seemingly transported (not really, he just ran there) to the back wall of the house near the doors, picking up a hose and placing his hand on the trigger of the nozzle with the biggest silly smile on his face, pointing it at this person he had just met. "A hose!! Hell yeah we do," he said, clearly sounding very thrilled about it.

Lt. Allan Allen | ENG BOT 12-Jul-24 06:13 PM
And it was at that moment that Allan slid open the patio door, looking just a little bit ... not tired, but like someone who had just been relaxing in a bath for about an hour, his hair in wet curls that dripped onto his chest as he looked over at Brokuk. "What's this about hoes- ohhh, oh, the - wait, why are you-" his eyes widened some as he looked over at Elwyn and waved. "Heyy, Elwyn, this guy - he's not causing you trouble, right? I have no clue who he is if so. Never met him." The grin on his face was, if for nothing else, clear evidence that was a jest.

Watching as Brokuk went and grabbed the hose, Elwyn was about to say 'rinse me down!' before suddenly seeing Allan come out the house, whom was immediately greeted with a huge grin and a wave. "Hi Allan!" They exclaimed, before immediately beelining towards him and pulling the significantly taller man into an excited hug, being sure to not use the entirety of her enhanced strength as she did, and not caring about the few drips on his chest, either. "He was offering to rinse my feet! They're a bit sandy!" They replied, giggling at his joke about not knowing who Brokuk was.

Brokuk turned to look at Allan as he stepped out the door, watching the hug exchange go on as Chadrix shut the grill off. "Yeah, dude, chillll," he laughed and playfully stuck his tongue out at the redhead.

"Hey! Yeahh, okay, I guess I believe that," he rolled his eyes, a smile on his face as he hugged Elwyn back. "I am very chill, thank you, Brokuk, I just had what, an hour? In the bath? That's pretty damn chill."

"Yeah, yeah, totally, well, I'm still up for spraying," he tapped the hose nozzle in his hand and then pulled the trigger at a random section of the ground. "Seems to work pretty well still!"

Allan was maybe a little too chill, hugging Elwyn and watching Brokuk spray the hose and oh God, that food smelled fucking good - that he hardly thought of, you know, closing the door behind him. He realized the problem when he felt the small brush of fur past his ankles, panicking a little as he quickly reached down to grab the little bastard. Aka Pirate, the kitten. "Shit-" he put the kitten back inside and properly shut the door behind him. "Sooorry, I guess, ah, I mean, his name's Pirate, probably dreams to go out to the sea on a proper ship or something, but ah..... he's definitely not... you're not gonna tell anyone that."

"I will!" Brokuk laughed almost maniacally as he started making like, little lines on the patio with the hose. "I'm thinking I'll tell the Captain himself, hm, let's see, oooh, right after morning coffee? Feel like that'd be a good time." He actually turned down the setting on the hose realizing he was just going to spray some feet and sandals and not a whole patio, "yeaaah, so I can like, hose or you can use uhh, sometimes if you don't want to be all wet you can use like, there's this brush? Super good to just like, wipe the sand off." They were surfers, of course they had so many ways to get sand off!

"Oooh! An hour in the bath sounds niiiice!" Elwyn replied as she released Allan from the hug-based prison he was in. As her friend suddenly reached down to grab a kitten, the android's face lit up with glee at just how cute it was, watching as the ACEO put him back in the house. "Sorry for what? He's so cute!" She responded as she wrapped her arm around the taller man's back, turning her attention towards Brokuk as he spoke. Looking down at her feet briefly, she responded. "If you have a towel we can use the wet option! I think the sand is a bit too stuck on to brush off."

Lt. Allan Allen | ENG BOT 16-Jul-24 03:39 AM
"It iiiiis," Allan responded with the same sort of extension to the last word he spoke that Elwyn had used, "well, he's cute, yes, but absolutely not allowed to dash off into the sunset," he laughed, but there was a hint of nervousness to it as he realized that could have actually happened. Very unlikely, but still. This was his first year bringing the Captain on shore leave with him, and - therefore - the cats. All three of them. "You, ah- will see him a lot later, don't worry. Him and his sister and their mother, just gotta be careful where you step," speaking of stepping, he stepped a bit away from them as he realized that if he didn't, Brokuk would absolutely take the opportunity to spray him, who had just dried off, with the hose.
Avatar
Brokuk | NPC BOT 16-Jul-24 03:39 AM
Allan would have been right. He absolutely would have been a little shithead and sprayed him with those if he had been too close to Elwyn. "Alriiiight, dude, hose it is," he said with a wide grin, doing a test spray at the ground again, "just, like, take the sandals off and we'll spray, uh," he turned down the nozzle setting and tested it again, just too make sure it wasn't too high of a pressure. "All good to go?" And, if Elwyn said yes, he did the hose spraydown!! The hose definitely had some pressure still, but nothing that would hurt or anything.

Lt. JG. Elwyn Preston | SEC BOT 16-Jul-24 02:34 PM
"Running away would be a bad idea, yeah. He's so little and small and could get lost!" They responded in turn. Missing kittens is not a fun holiday experience. Grinning at the thought of seeing them all a lot more, an avid animal lover, the android nodded in response when they were told to mind where they step. "Oh of course! I have good perception, but I pay extra attention when I know I could accidentally tread on something I shouldn't!" And being an android, they weighed more than they appeared, which only made treading on things they shouldn't so much worse. Turning their attention to Brokuk, their arm releasing from around Allan's back, Elwyn briefly bent down to take their sandals off before giving the go ahead to rinse their feet off. "I'm ready!" They declared. As the water began blasting their feet they made sure it got all angles, removing the sand. Their sandals also needed a rinse but they could do that in a bit. Once they were clean and the Bro™️ presumably stopped, Elwyn gave him an appreciative smile. "Thank you!" They said, wiggling their toes a little to make sure there was no more sand between them.

Brokuk, meanwhile, was having a grand old time spraying the hose! After he was done, he shouted a 'woooo!' and pointed the hose briefly in the air, which sprayed a bit of a very light mist down on everyone in its vicinity. "Hell yeah, bro!" he grinned, and shut the hose off properly. No more spraying. For now.

"Oh, fuck, Brokuk-" he laughed and shook his head when the mist fell down onto him - it was fine, really, considering he was still a bit wet, but still, he was trying to dry off! "I hope you didn't ruin Chad's food with that, or you'll be in biiiiig trouble, you know," speaking of that, though..

Chadrix walked over to the door with his big plate of food, it smelling absolutely delicious despite the wide variety of aromas. Checking the doorway to make sure there were no kittens around it, he slid the door open and looked back at the rest. "Thankfully not," he said with a small smile, "not that Brokuk gets any anyways." A loud and offended 'HEY!!' echoed from the other Reman as he ran to follow the other inside. Clearly wanting food.

As Brokuk sprayed the water into the air and the mist came raining down on them, Elwyn grinned as she looked upward, letting it fall lightly onto her face. Despite being able to cope with extreme temperatures for a while and never truly feeling discomfort when hot or cold, it was still a nice feeling to be cooled down a little in the summer sun. Giggling at her hopefully new friend's enthusiasm, as well as Allan's reaction, she looked over as he mentioned Chadrix's food hopefully not being ruined. Relieved it wasn't, the smell as it was carried towards the house wafted into her nose. "Ooooh, that smells really good! I love barbecue food! Watching as Allan snatched a tostones from the plate before gesturing for them to follow, the android did just that, grabbing their case and bringing it with them. As they put their sandy sandals down by the door, making a mental note to clean them up later, they moved to put their suitcase to one side until they knew where to put it, all while listening in on the ongoing conversation. Looking over as they noticed Brokuk take a list of some sort off the fridge, Elwyn wandered over to see what it was all about, taking the list off Allan as they were given it. Reading it as they listened to Allan talk about going downstairs, a look of intrigue rather quickly turned into a playful little grin. As Brokuk mentioned the varying skill levels, the android quickly interjected themself. "Yeah, I've only got just over a month's worth of skills!" They said playfully as they watched the basement be revealed. Watching as Allan kissed Brokuk, they listened to what their friend said before almost immediately approaching the stairs as he gestured to them, list still in hand. "I don't know what everything on here is, but I really like the sound of a lot of it, soooo..." Without an ounce of hesitation, a very cheeky grin being given to Allan as they mimicked his 'soooo', Elwyn began making their way down the stairs into the basement, feeling very excited for what was to come!

Allan stepped out of the beach house onto the sun-drenched beach, the warmth immediately enveloping him. He wore a loose, white linen shirt (which he had, most likely, stolen from one of his boyfriends at some point) left open and a simple tan floppy sun hat with a lavender bow around the center of it. The smell of the sea combined with the sound of the gentle purple waves added to the perfect ambiance of the evening - after the swimming they'd done before this and the spontaneous activites afterwards that had necessitated a shower for the both of them, somehow they'd timed it just right to enjoy the evening in a state of pure relaxation post-all-that. In his hands, he carried two tall glasses of piña coladas, each garnished with a slice of pineapple and a maraschino cherry, and a plate of freshly made tostones, as Chadrix made... far too many of them, honestly, just because he knew how much Allan liked them. One day, he'd get tired of them. Today was not that day. As he approached Dagis, who was lounging comfortably in a beach chair, he couldn't help but smile at the sight of her looking so relaxed and content. After what they'd both been through recently, it... was much needed, really, and he knew that it would be a good thing to convince her to make the trip here. divider
02:07
He walked up to the set of beach lounge chairs, resting one hand at the top end of hers as he took off the hat on his head and placed it right on top of hers, shaking it off a little first in case he'd gotten it wet at all from his still-drying hair. "Forgot this," he said, chuckling as he went over and sat down in the chair beside her, placing the drinks and snacks on a small table between them. The sun was beginning to dip lower in the sky, turning the sky into lovely shades of a darker purple. "Man, I dunno if I'm even ready to go back," he said with a small sigh, and after taking a moment to savor the view, he looked at the plate of tostones and realized it also had- "Oooh, shit, almost forgot - psst, Dog, c'mere," he said as if Dog could hear him, but he waved for the dog to come over as he stuck a treat out in his hand he'd taken from the plate. Would have been a shame if he accidentally ate it.

Post-all-that Dagis had made her way out into the sun a minute or four prior to Allan appearing, wearing a short lavender beach dress and holding Dog's retractable lead. Being immediately hit by the warmth of the sun after a shower and previous activities was a frankly divine feeling on her skin, a very content and relaxed smile on her face as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath of the sea air. Walking over to the two lounge chairs in the sand, the Ferengi crouched down to clip the Old-Time Scotch Collie pup's lead to the pole of the umbrella to stop him wandering too far, before making her way to sit down, put her feet up, and get comfortable in the lounger. One calf crossing over the other as both hands came to rest on her stomach, feeling the most relaxed she had been in quite some time now, the woman closed her eyes, enjoying the gentle sea breeze and sound of the waves going in and out as Dog began wandering off a little, trying to figure out the limits to his lead's length. Feeling well and truly peaceful, it was only as Allan put her hat on her head that she opened her eyes again, turning her head to glance up at him with a warm smile as she watched him sit beside her. "Thank you," Dagis responded sincerely. "My mind was a bit elsewhere when I came out here." She continued with a soft chuckle. Glancing back out at the water as her friend spoke about not knowing if he was ready to head back to 777, watching the purple waves slowly moving in and out as the sun set. "Me neither, but there's always next shore leave at least." She replied, her tone conveying just how relaxed she felt.

divider It was as Allan had his realisation about the thing he forgot that she turned back to watch as he picked a dog treat up off the plate and held it out for Dog to take. Dog, being the attention loving gremlin he was, very quickly noticed the Human Friend waving for him to come over as he happened to look that way, and even more quickly noticed the treat as it was held out. Trotting on over, his tail wagging as he approached, he very quickly (but gently) accepted the treat, eating it appreciatively. The Ferengi chuckled a little at just how comfortable her pup had gotten around Allan, before turning her attention to the snacks and drinks once more and picking up the glass on her side of the table to take a sip. "Oh, this is very nice." She commented contently, looking back at her friend as she did, the warm, relaxed smile still firmly on her face.

I dunno, I tend to say it comes up faster as the years go on, but honestly, it kind of feels slow at times too," he mused as he let Dog eat the treat, and then the next one - he'd had two, as a treat. A literal treat. Treats. After that, he gave the dog an appreciative pet and pat on the head before he turned back to just lay down in the chair, staring straight up at the darkening sky. "It is, isn't it? It's... sometimes I take a longer shore leave and go back home, too, just because summer is really nice there, too, but - any other season is pretty warm there as well - it's only here that it's really just the summer that's warm," the temperature on this planet tended to run a bit cooler than it did in a tropical island on Earth, naturally. "And I mean... it's just... unique, you know? I don't think I ever would have considered going here if I hadn't met Brokuk and Chadrix when I did, well - might've gone after meeting people on 777, actually, but - that's like, an.. eight year difference? Fuck." He'd had the realization that it had been 10 years since he'd joined Starfleet as a cadet a few times now during this shore leave, but it was still crazy when he thought about it. The time passed... so quickly, and yet it didn't feel like that at all. Five years alone were at the Academy, and three at his posting that he'd rather erase most his memory of half the time - and just two on 777. "You ever been on a beach before this?"

As Allan spoke about things coming up fast, but also sometimes feeling quite slow, Dagis couldn't help but agree. She wasn't sure why things felt like that sometimes, but she'd certainly noticed it herself. "I get what you mean on that. Sometimes time flies by, and other times things feel like they take so much longer. I mean, I wish shore leave could be a lot longer but it feels like it's flown by." She replied as she thought about just how much she had needed this break from everything. "It is very tempting to extend my leave, - I think I have quite a few leave days built up now, actually, - but I also feel like I'll start missing work eventually. Not that I'm in any rush to go back, mind." The woman continued with a chuckle. Agreeing whole-heartedly that Mol'Rihan was unique, the Ferengi's blue eyes glanced around at the view in front of her as she listened to her friend have the sudden realisation about how much time had passed. There were plenty of years she herself didn't like thinking about, but there were also a few good ones dotted amongst them that she was quite fond of. "This place is so beautiful. I don't think I would've ever considered coming here, yet now I have, now you invited me... I genuinely think I love it here. Although it's better with company, of course." She commented with a soft chuckle, glancing over at the man laying beside her with a smile, before picking up one of the tostones and biting into it. Eyes turning back to look at the ocean once more as she finished her snack, a sudden thought occurred to her as Allan asked about if she'd been on a beach before. "You know... I don't think I have, actually. I certainly never did on Ferenginar, nor when I was at the Academy, but now I'm thinking about it... I don't even think I did during any of my previous postings, either. I think this is my first beach. Honestly? I'm glad it's my first. It's a damn good first impression, that's for certain." (edited)

"Mm, mmhm," Allan hummed in agreement as she talked about being tempted to extend it but also starting to miss work. "Yeah, I... weird enough to say, but I kind of love it, I... if you kinda told me three years ago I'd be doing what I do now, I dunno, I would've laughed? Cried? Both? But then if you told, you know, me... what, 11 years ago..? 10 and a half..? I would've been absolutely thrilled. And um, very proud." He let that sink in for a minute, taking a deep breath before slowly tilting himself back up on the chair to grab his drink and take a sip. "Couldn't imagine this place without the company, but I'm glad it was good for you, I..." he trailed off as he took another sip because you know, it was fucking good shit. Was it a bit stereotypical for him to like piña coladas so much? Maybe. Did he fucking love the shit out of them? Hell yes. "You know, I actually - does Ferenginar have beaches? You would think, with all the water..? I grew up on a beach, obviously, um - well, I guess not on it, there was just like, always ocean within like, 20 miles of me no matter where I went on the island, even deep in the rainforest, so.." he shrugged, "definitely a lot of beach." Setting the drink back down, he looked down at the waves that hit the now almost-pitch black shore - it was a super cool sight every time, really, before looking back at his friend with a soft smile. "I'm glad it was a good first impression, honestly, it... it only gets better from there, in my experience, in... in all respects, really."

"If you'd told me three years ago I'd be doing what I do now, enjoying life again, and getting to live a life that was such a distant concept then, I think I would've either not believed you, or cried, or both," She replied lightly, despite the time period and subsequent situation she was referring to. It wasn't a time period she let herself think about for too long, and she certainly wasn't about to ruin her mood thinking about it now. "But I think I'd have been the same as you if I was told 10 or so years ago. COO of a starbase... ACEO of a starbase. I think sometimes people forget they're allowed to be proud of themselves and their achievements, - I know I do, - but we both deserve to be proud of ourselves." Giving Allan a warm, appreciative smile as he said he was glad it was good for her, Dagis took another sip of her drink as she continued to watch the sun set. It really did feel like a view you could never get tired of. Listening contently as her friend spoke, something else she felt was equally as impossible to get tired of, she couldn't help but feel intrigued by the concept of always being that close to an ocean no matter where you were. "I don't know of any sandy beaches on Ferenginar, but it's a long time since I took geology lessons so I might've forgotten one or two. I know of a few of stony ones, and there are some mud banks, but the latter hardly count as beaches as far as the definition goes." Dagis responded with a chuckle. Looking at him again as he said he was glad it was a good first impression, the woman couldn't help but like the sound of things only getting better in all respects. "I look forward to it." She replied contently, soft, warm smile matching his own.

The engineer was glad that they seemed to be able to both relate to this - for very different reasons, perhaps, but nonetheless... it was nice to see how far they'd both come. If he thought about it on a broader scale, it was amazing to see how far most people had come when he thought about the other people he knew on the starbase, and particularly the other people he knew on this very planet at the moment - including but not limited to all three of his boyfriends and his best friend that had just gotten married on this very beach. They'd all come so far in the, like, two years or less that he'd known them on 777, and who was to say where they'd go next? "Hell fuckin' yeah, I'll toast to that," he said with a grin, taking his little drink glass and clinking it against hers once she also lifted it up. Classic universal gesture, for the most part. "Yeahhh, it'll be good. Smooth sailing," he said with a smile in response to her looking forwards to it, and then as Allan typically did, thought of something else back in the conversation and decided to go on a tangent there. "Ooooh, by the way, mud banks sound so fun, though... I mean, for me, at least, I dunno how you feel about them, but like, Mephistopheles told me once that I haven't seen frogs until I've been to Ferenginar, so I was thinking, like, I should definitely go to a mud bank there at some point, there would definitely be a lot of frogs there, right? Like, soooo many frogs? Speaking of frogs.." and maybe the two talked about frogs for a while until the sun set and it was a beautiful scene, except without frogs. Frogs didn't tend to be at the beach.
